I have multiple accounts on multiple Instant Message service providers so I use Pidgin to log into each of my accounts. Pidgin helps me stay in touch with my personal friends and workplace colleagues using the same client. Unfortunately about two/three weeks ago I noticed that Pidgin wasn't logging into my Yahoo account. It seems that Yahoo made some changes in their protocol handling that was causing issues for Pidgin. Thankfully the folks behind Pidgin released two quick updates that helped resolve and problem.

If you're having issues with Pidgin logging into Yahoo you might want to make sure that you're running Pidgin 2.5.8 or later. You can find the change log here.
