VPN Router 1750 - status report issue
« on: October 13, 2011, 07:05:02 AM »
Hello Everyone,

First time on forum.
I am a "follower" of Michaelīs Blog for a few years.
Congratulations and cheers to all members that had made this forum grow.
I am having an issue with Contivity 1750 :

Status report is showing events in one day and on the day after, the same events are gone or have the hour changed. Status reports shows the same event mismached from one day to the other.

This is very odd, since the same event shows with a different hour or simple disappear..

checking the documentation, I see that Contivity stores a diary file of the day. Could be this the discrepancy?

Hope you can help

Best Regards

Hi beconnect and welcome to the forums!

The logfile on the NVR 1750 is not infinite and it's possible that the log is wrapping (overwriting) itself. How busy is the router?

If you send the logs to an external SYSLOG server you'll be able preserve them and manipulate them easier. The log viewer on the NVR is painful... looking through the SYSLOG server is very quick and easy, especially if you are using something like SPLUNK or some other log correlation solution.

Cheers!
