Changing ELAN TLAN IP addresses CS1000E
« on: November 14, 2011, 10:29:38 AM »
Project is upgrading system to CS1000E HA. Also includes a remote SMG site. The system is programmed with the respective ELAN and TLAN subnets, but now IT wants to change the IP address scheme.  The system guys are telling me that changing the ELAN and TLAN parameters at this point causes all sorts of problems and that the best plan is to clear everything and start programming from scratch, which of course is time consuming. With data gear usually changing IP addresses is no big deal, why is it an issue with the CS1000E?

Thanks!

I'm not a CS1000 expert but I've heard the same from my Shared Technologies (now Arrow S3) techs. You can run into all sorts of issues and problems and you need to start the configuration from scratch. This is more so the case if you have any applications or services such as AAM or System Manager or Session Manager, etc.
