Nortel Ip phone 1140E
« on: June 09, 2010, 09:44:05 AM »

Hi

Is there a way that when the nortel IP phone gets an ip address from dhcp server instead of showing the
mac address we want it come up with a some hostname which should distinguish it easily whose ip phone is it.

how we can do that
Thanks
Asif

Where exactly are your seeing this MAC address? Are you talking about within your DHCP/DNS servers?

If you want to give each IP phone a specific hostname you'll need to use a M-DHCP (Manual DHCP) assignment within your DHCP server.

Cheers!
