I'm very new to IP telephony and recently fell into managing a small site..
How can I upgrade the firmware on a i2002 phone?
Thanks in advance!

Hi John,
I'll give you a few hints and tips to start. You need to login to Element Manager (web gui) which is usually available on the Succession Signaling Server. Once you have logged in you need to upload the firmware file to the Signaling Server and then distribute it out to all the components (Signaling Servers, Voice Gateway Media Cards, etc). Once you have distributed the firmware file out the phone should upgrade the next time it restarts.
Navigate to the following and upload the new firmware file;
IP Telephony -> Software -> File Upload
Once the file is uploaded you need to navigate to the path below;
IP Telephony -> Software -> Phone Firmware
Select the firmware version (file) you just uploaded and distribute it out to the node.
That should be it!
Good Luck!

I also found out that you can upgrade all the phones at once using the 'usmUpgradeAll' command from the Succesion Signaling Servers. It was pretty cool to see every IP phone reboot and upgrade itself but I started to get nervous toward the end wondering if they were going to come back online. Thankfully everything came back up. Thanks for the tip.
