Hi shreedhars,

Worse case scenario, if the Avaya softphone doesn't work with MAC OS is possibly use parallels?

Hi Flinstone;

Thanks can you suggest a parallel that will work instead of a I2050 phone which works on proprietory Unistream protocol to some other phone which can work with BCM400 4.0, also pl. notify if any licenses are involved for it.

Hi shreedhars,

We have had to license our softphones.

If you have a CS1000 with 7.5 software and Session Manager you should be able to register any SIP compliant phone (or softphone) assuming you have the appropriate licenses. Are there any SIP softphones out there for MacOS? I don't know.

Good Luck!

My customer has the same request.

Our MAC users all have Windows 7 on VMWare. The I2050 installs and runs. The audio is the problem because it pipes through the VM to the MAC OS. If you patch the USB device directly to the softphone to allow the USB controls to function, the audio may get choppy. I found audio is best when it is passed through the mac controls and handled as a third party USB device with no answer, mute or disconnect functions. In that case any USB headset should work and all sounds pass through the USB headset. Only the tech savy inividuals are using this setup. The rest are waiting for an upgrade to Release 7.5 and the Avaya Aura Platform when we add SIP user features to the system.

A SIP client is available for the MAC from CounterPath called eyeBeam. www.counterpath.com
