I have been led to believe that there is a built in IPSEC VPN client into the 1140 phones, or at least there is an ability to have the 1140 establish an IPSEC tunnel nativly (no other hardware required). Unfortunately I have been unable to find any documentation related to this to determine whether or not it is a fasible solution, or better yet, whether it even exists. Has anyone heard of this feature, and if so where can I find documentation related to it? Between google and Nortels website I think I have found the end of the internet looking for this info.

Welcome to the forums!

With release 4.0 of the UNIStim firmware for the 1140e there is a built-in VPN client. It's referred to as the UNIStim VPN Client (UVC).

You can find some of the information on this blog post;

Good Luck!
