I'm going to guess that you are having issues when connecting via SSH?

I personally use PuTTY. In PuTTY you need to make sure you have the the correct backspace key set.

Select Terminal -> Keyboard and change the Backspace key to Control-H.

Good Luck!

On the topic of putty, I've noticed on my 470's I do not have a cursor showing. Anyone run across that before? I've looked through the putty settings and tried some changed with no luck.

Thanks!

The only time I've seen that is when the switch/stack has been up too long and is about to crash. What software are you running? Is this will multiple switches/stacks?

Looks like it doesn't show up on any 470s or 460s for me in Putty. I usually just use the Windows telnet interface which does have a cursor. Software version is 3.7.2/3.7.4.

The 5510 that I tried did show a cursor in Putty though.

I'm hoping that all my 470s aren't about to crash... :)

Same here Tony, telnet, hyperterminal works fine. I should clarify that the cli works fine via putty it's just that the cursor doesn't display is all. My 470's are on some dated code and could use an update, it's just something I've always delt with but never had any 'stability' issues.

Later,
Todd

That's pretty funny... I just never noticed it myself until you mentioned it here.

I get the same behavior, I'm wondering if it's got something to-do with how PuTTY identifies itself or rather how the switch identifies itself to PuTTY.

You learn something interesting everyday around here!
