Telnet access to 8600's
« on: September 03, 2011, 11:31:11 PM »
We have some access problems in some of our 8600's.

When we telnet in to the box and run show cli who it show's telnet 7 is live and above that it show's 6 lines of "Couldn't get the connected peer".At this point of time no one can be able to log into this box as 7th telnet session is live and rest have some error.

In some 8600's i can see that if i logged in and run show cli who it shows only 1 session as telnet 0 which is fine.
In some 8600's it show 4 lines of "Couldn't get the connected peer" and telnet 4 as active on running show cli who.

I have checked by clearing telnet 0 to telnet 6 but still only one person is able to log into this box.

Please suggest.

regards,
Mohan

What version of software are you running?

Is there some type of management system that might be logging in via telnet? I suspect you'll need to reboot the switch to clear the hung sessions.

Good Luck!

we are using 5.1.2.2.
All the management stations shall manually initiate a session into the box.
Any other options without rebooting???
