OSPF routing with Baystack 5520
« on: November 02, 2011, 09:33:48 AM »
Hi all,

I've an 5520 running sw version 6.2.3. I would like to enable OSPF routing with a PP 8600. Actually some site said that I need an advanced license in oder to enable OSPF routing, regardless what sw version on the switch. Is that correct?
About the funtionality, the 5510 and 5520 is the same, right? The only difference is 5520 support PoE. Correct me if I'm wrong :).

I've searched the blog and found no instruction about OSPF configuration. If you guys know how to config or with document should I read please tell me.

Hi trieudoahong,

I believe you do need an advanced license to be able to run OSPF on your ERS5000s switches?

The Avaya support site on the web has all the configuration documents that you require:

CheerZ and good luck

You definitely need an Advanced License to run OSPF on the Ethernet Routing Switch 5000 series. There is a considerable hardware difference between the ERS 5510 and the ERS 5520 outside of the above mentioned PoE. The ERS 5510 has a slower CPU and less memory so it would be advised to keep with the ERS 5520 if possible and to NOT mix them in a stack.

You only need to search this forum to find the answer regarding how to enable OSPF.

Good Luck!
