New 8600/8800 Software v7.1.3
« on: January 30, 2012, 04:32:17 PM »
There is new software coming for the 8600/8800 units.  Software v7.1.3 has lots of new features in the documents and some fixes.  So it looks like a new feature release with some bug fixes tacked on.  I don't see the software available to download yet, but you can browse the release notes from the link below.

I am looking forward to dynamic VLAN's on LACP trunks myself...

If anyone has the opportunity to deploy this software release please post back your impressions.

Yes this feature was really missing. I heard from Avaya they implemented it in fact of customer requests,
I waited for that feature a very long time, good to hear that it is finally in the 7.1.3 code.

Itīs always the network...

Hi Paul,

Can you expand on this?  What were/are your issues?  We have 4 8600s on 7.1.1 at the moment...

I'm very keen to take our boxes up to 7.1.3 for the dynamic VLAN addition to LACP trunks alone.  Some of those bug fixes would be good too.  That OSPF auth issue with VLAN 3993 is one of ours!

I upgraded an ERS 8606 v7.1.1 to v7.1.3 and notice the following odd error from the console;

CPU5 [02/03/12 12:29:20] SW WARNING  Code=0x24d1 Software license violation

I've never seen message before... the switch has an Advanced License loaded and operational.

Interesting...

after further troubleshooting it wasn't an issue with 7.1.1.  It was a hardware issue with the 8692 and the super-mezz module.  Might have a bad SF.

We received this error post upgrade from 7.1.0 to 7.1.1. (Running Premier Licence)
If I remember correctly we were told we could ignore it. Can't remember why it's there, but all the licenced features work.
