Well for any of you that care our facility just upgraded to an 8600 core, the previous core was a stack of 5500 series switches. The cutover went great we moved all up-link edge closets over and most all servers also. We were having a serous problem with a 5530 in the core stack, it was just rebooting. After replacing the unit, trying new cables, new software, etc. the problem was still happening. I have the 'old' core stack running independently from our network, I'm going to do my best to make the problem re-occur. I really would like to know what the problem is, I'll keep you posted if we do find out what the issue is.

Anywho, on the 5500's I have a command I use frequently: show cpu-utilization. I know on the 8600 I can use: show sys perf. But it only shows the current stats, I like the 5500's output because it shows the last 24 hours. Anyone know the correct syntax I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

It's good to hear that your upgrade went well.

That's the only command available on the ERS 8600 switch (show sys perf).

You can graph the CPU utilization via SNMP using MRTG/RRD or some other SNMP polling solution.

Let me know if you can't find the SNMP MIB and OID and I can look it up for you.
