LLDP Configuration
« on: June 29, 2010, 02:05:10 PM »
Hi,
I was wondering if someone could explain how to configure LLDP on a nortel 5520/5698 ethernet switch. Is this enabled by default? Our Core 8600's currently dont support this feature, will LLDP still function properly? This is needed for Infoblox's Port IQ appliance to correctly associate MAC address to ports rather then the uplink ports.

Thanks in advance!

Have a look at this post for some CLI commands to enable LLDP (used for ADAC in the example but it's still an example for).

Good Luck

Thanks for the link.

I'm still a little lost ( may be over thinking it ) on how the ports be configured. Should certain ports be txAndRx while others are just tx or rx? Should i be using dot1, dot3, and med?

Any suggestions would be helpful. For some reason its just not clicking.

Thanks again,
Jeremiah

I'm guessing that's all going to depend on what information your "Infoblox's Port IQ appliance" is looking for.

Cheers!
