KHI = Key Health Information.
An avaya feature

It's a new feature in 7.x software for the ERS 8600/8800 series switch. It's part of a larger push by Avaya to improve the resiliency of the switch.

The Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600 supports Key Health Indicators (KHI) that allow for the collection of statistics and information about the health of the system for troubleshooting purposes related to system failure. The Key Health Indicator (KHI) feature identifies a small number of key health indicators that allow quick assessment of the overall operational state of the Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch 8800/8600. These indicators do not provide complete coverage of all possible failure scenarios. Rather, KHI is a diagnostic tool for the health of the
switch. Further debugging is required to correctly understand the system state and actions required to remedy the situation.
