Copying files - HELP!
« on: March 26, 2010, 11:27:50 AM »
When copying files from PCMCIA to Flash... is there a way to do a "copy all" type command rather than typing each file name out completely?  I just went from 4.1.8.2 to 5.0.5 on one of my 8600's and there I had 11 files to copy, to each CPU to upgrade.  And then after DOS format had to copy them all back to both Flash's AND PCMCIA's...!!  I spent over an hour just typing copy commands!  Can anyone help on a faster way to do this?

Thanks!

Hi Brzzz and welcome to the forums!

I don't believe I've ever had any success in using wild cards. I generally write the commands down once (in Wordpad or Notepad) and then cut-n-paste them over and over modifying as needed until I'm done. It's much easier than continually typing in the commands and cuts down on the typos.

Perhaps someone else will have a tip or hint to share with us... I never really spent too much time trying to see if/what wild cards were accepted. I will tell you that I've primarily only worked with the legacy Passport CLI, perhaps it's different in NNCLI?

Cheers!

cp /pcmcia/p80?4182* /flash/

and your set.
