Configuring LACP with ERS5500 and ProCurve 2848
« on: January 13, 2010, 05:05:28 PM »
I am in the planning stage of configuring connectivity from my ERS 5500 stack (3 switches) to two HP ProCurve 2848 switches.  I plan to configure ports 2/45 and 2/46 as my first LAG and 3/45 and 3/46 as my second LAG.   Does anyone have an example of how to accomplish this?  I have configured MLTs/SMLT before but this is a little different.

Hi Q and welcome to the forums!

You'll find quite a few examples on my blog. I would start with the these links;

LACP Configuration Examples - Part 1
LACP Configuration Examples - Part 2
LACP Configuration Examples - Part 3

Please let us know if you have additional questions and please feel free to participate in any of the ongoing threads/discussions.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I have small query regarding LACP over SLT on ERS 5500

1)   It is indicated in Avaya documentation that lacp port-mode avance doesn’t respect 802.3ad.
Is it preferable to use lacp port-mode default for connected server using LACP ?

2)   Normally, with LACP we can configure some links partner in mode ‘standby’ and other in mode ‘active’. I don’t find this implementation of the ERS55xx v6.2.3.
Is it possible to use LACP in a mode Active/Standby ?
                If this configuration is possible, Do you have a sample of configuration for LACP using Active\Standby mode in the environment LACP over SLT ?

Regards

Ronit
