config file not booting

Hi,

    We have an ERS8300 and we tried to upgrade the image to 4.2.0.1 which was successful but we can't ping the switch. So we downgraded the switch to 4.0.0.0 but this time the config file is not booting. Kindly advice on how to proceed furtther with this issue.
