cmd-interface cli -> is menu still usable ?
« on: November 22, 2009, 01:12:10 PM »
Hi,

I'd like to have our Nortel 425 and 5510 switches use cli as default cmd-interface, instead of 'menu'.
This can be done via 'cmd-interface cli'.

However .... when I want for some reason want access to the menu, how do I do it ?

When I'd type 'menu' on the cli, it prompts me for a password ... but it's neither the ro or rw password...

Is this possible at all ?

---> Edit : it appears that when you do exit or logout (at least on 425), you get back in the menu.
Anyway to turn this behaviour off as well, so it just exits the telnet/ssh session ?
Last but not least : nor 'more off' or 'config cli more off' works...how do you do this on a 425 ?

Thanks for any hints :)

If I ever need to gain access to the menu of a 5500 series I just exit out of the cli.

55510(config)#exit
5510#exit
(I will now be at the menu)

If anyone knows a quicker way please post!! :)

In case you didn't realize, on some of the switches if you have the 'secure' code loaded the menu is not available. The memory required for the menu is utilized by the secure (AES/3DES) software.

Cheers!
