Baystack 425-48T POST Test Failed
« on: January 26, 2012, 07:22:13 AM »
Hi,

We had a few strange issue this morning where by we could not connect to the switch via telnet/ESM/ping/web etc. I single user could not connect her laptop either.

I found nothing in syslog so i gave it a reboot.

All seems to have come up ok and I can now access the switch as expected, but I noticed that it failed test number 220 during bootup. I attached the screenshot with the full error details.

Any idea what this message indicates?

I've configured a spare ready to go if needed, but just wanted to check before I scheduled this in.

Cheers!

Alex

Hi alexbax1 and welcome to the forum

It looks like a hardware error of some sort, so I would schedule to replace as soon as possible?

You should also be able to get a new switch through Avaya's lifetime warranty scheme?

Hi Flintstone,

Thanks for your response.

I thought as much. Not really much you can so with a hardware error i suppose. I'm sure i'll be able to get a replacement under warranty. We have done a few times before.

Thanks,

Alex
