are es470's EOL or MD?
« on: December 22, 2011, 07:22:14 PM »
someone within our org just tried to RMA a 470 this week and we were told that 470's are no longer covered under their limited or lifetime warranty because they are now EOL/MD.

searched the avaya site and goolge to no avail.  has anyone there heard anything?  I can find a notice anywhere.

These are the dates that I've found on our internal fileserver somewhere:

End Of Sales 31/10/2010
End Of Life 31/10/2015

There was also a note from a colleague that the MD date most of the time is the EOS + 1 month, so in this case it would be:

Manufacturing Discontinued 31/11/2010

I don't know it these are correct, just FYI. A couple of months ago we were able to successfully RMA a ES 470 48t because of a faulty fan. I really hope that they are still being supported as we're using quite some ES 470's at our remote sites.

You'll find the announcement here;

http://support.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100114055

Here are the specific dates;

End of Sale Date (last day to order new systems) 31st October 2010
End of Sale Date (last day to ship new systems) 30th November 2010
End of Manufacturer Support for Hardware 30th November 2013
End of Manufacturer Support for Software 30th November 2011
Targeted End of Services Support 30th November 2015

It might be correct... we need to inquire with Avaya to get the exact answer.

Cheers!
