Guys
Is there away to implement the ERS 8600 switch to reference a primary time server, using DNS look-up/reference, instead of straight IP addressing.
Cheers

Hi Sean and welcome!
The current implementation in 5.x software requires an IP address which is probably the same for 7.x software.
While the switch can be configured with DNS servers it's a touchy subject relying on DNS for any core network operations since any issues with DNS resolution could slow down the entire switch. It's easy enough to script a change if you ever need... I've been using the same NTP servers for the past 10 years and only had to change them this fall when we opened a new Data Center.
Cheers!
