Alteon 2424 SSL
« on: March 11, 2011, 08:44:51 AM »
Hi All,

I am wondering if anybody can help to see if my settings are correct. We have had 2 Alteons working as peers and we have setup SSL on them with a verisign cert(1024 bit). Our cert Expired a couple of days ago and We purchased a new cert (2048 bit). We installed the cert with no problem and the https site works but we noticed other strange things happening to our handheld devices that state the cert is not supported. So my question on the switch perspective, since we changed to a 2048 bit cert by verisign would I need to change my Ciphers? I set my ciphers to (ciphers HIGH!ADH-AES128-SHA!ADH-AES256-SHA!ADH-DES-CBC3-SHA). Does anybody else think that the cert is not supported on the handhelds (which I believe is running Windows mobile 5). Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi jcny21 and welcome to the forums!

Have you loaded the intermediate root certificate that VeriSign used to sign your new cert onto your handhelds?

I've seen that issue in the past where the handheld doesn't have the intermediate root certificate that VeriSign uses these days to sign the CSR you submit.

What type of handhelds?

Cheers!
