RFS4010 and wired hotspot
« on: September 20, 2011, 01:21:31 PM »
Hi all,

I've got the following problem. I'm testing a rfs4010 (firmware v4.3.2.0) and want to activate the wired hot spot functionality, which is implemented since firmware release v4.3.x and higher (i think so). I've created two VLANs, one management VLAN (192.168.0.1 /24) and one hotspot VLAN(192.168.1.1 24) and distribute them to the LAN ports (port 1= management, port 2-5= hotspot VLAN).

To enable the wired hot spot it is necessary to choose a VLAN that isn't configured as the management interface. Because of that i choose vlan2 for the wired hot spot. I've done the following configurations: Authenticationserver is the internal radius server which has the IP: 192.168.1.1 and therefore it interacts in vlan2. The hotspot HTTP redirection occurs via internal pre-built Web-pages. The internal DHCP Server interacts in VLAN 2 (192.168.1.100 - 102.168.1.254).

When I connect a MU (e.g. an notebook) to port 2-5 DHCP adress resolution is successful. But when I open the internet browser no redirecting to the hotspot login page is happen.

What is wrong? Anybody a idea?

Thanks for your help

Kind regards

I've fixed it.

There was a DNS error, the client or MU wasn't able to communicate with the DNS server.

I created some ACL's for L2 and enable L2 firewall and it works.
