I recently fielded a trouble call from a user in my organization regarding a problem getting the Motorola Droid to connect and authenticate to our WPA/TKIP encrypted 802.1x authenticated WLAN. I have a Motorola Droid and sure enough I had the same problem running Android 2.2, however I for a fact that this wasn't always the case and sure enough I stumbled upon the following (known) issue;

Although I've read that Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" is supposed to be released next Monday. How long before Verizon pushes the update over the air? I suspect I'll be manually installing the update like I did for Android 2.1.
