software to datacenter and rack management
« on: December 02, 2011, 10:38:23 AM »
hello all..

I need a software to manage and control all the assets and equipments installed in my data center and the racks all over my company..

I've tried RackTables but I'm not sure if it was the best choice to do it, and now I'm seeking for any suggestions to manage this.

I'm looking for free solutions..

Cheers..

I'm personally using a combination of spreadsheet and Visio to help track the utilization.

I'm more concerned about the accuracy of the information than displaying it in a picturesque way.

Cheers!

Hi dinistic,

there are a lot of very expansive Data Center Management solutions from vendors like APC, IBM....
out there. But if you are looking for an open source solution you will find only a few in this area.

Take a look at RackSmith:

I was impressed about the features that RackSmith already has.

Cheers
Itīs always the network...
