Starting this past Monday Nortel employees that were offered a position with Avaya started their transition and orientation. I've heard from a few former Nortel employees that are going through numerous conference calls and meetings as Avaya tries to bring their new employees up to speed.

In a positive sign I did notice that Avaya has successfully migrated their new (Nortel) employee email accounts. I sent a few messages to a few different former Nortel employees and received a response from their Avaya email account. I also received a few Out of Office auto-responders such as below;

***************************************************************************
                     Email Address Change Notification

                  You will only receive this message once

                       Your email has been delivered

As part of on-going Nortel Networks divestitures, this recipient has transferred to Avaya Inc.

This email address is temporarily still in service, however this notification has been automatically generated on behalf of the recipient.

Please update your contact information and direct all correspondence to the recipient's new email address:

I also noticed that they are now promising to have a product roadmap and product portfolio available by January 19, 2010.

The saga isn't over just yet... I'm sure there's more to come!
