Upgrade to SMF 2.0 RC4 complete
« on: January 23, 2011, 04:17:17 PM »
The upgrade from SMF 1.1.12 to 2.0 RC4 has been completed without too many headaches. I did have an issue using Firefox 4 Beta 9 to complete step 4 of the upgrade process but I was able to complete the upgrade using Internet Explorer 8.

At first glance it appears that all the content and user accounts made the transition (which is the most important piece). I've left the current theme at the default for SMF 2.0 RC4 until I work out any issues. Once that's complete I'll start looking for some suitable, professional themes... I might even spring some $$$ if I feel a commercial theme might help make my job easier and help give the place the professional appearance and integration that I'm looking for.

Please feel free to report any problems or issues...

Cheers!

Just a quick update... also testing the forums and reply function.

It seems there is an issue with the order of the categories and the forums themselves... the display doesn't match up with the old version and it doesn't match up with what I've got configured. Not a big problem but a small bug that I'll reported to the SMF boys.

Cheers!

PS: testing posting attachments... please ignore.

A quick change... the option to display newest message at the top of a thread has been disabled globally.

Users can still change the preference themselves if they like.... this inadvertently got changed while I was testing for all users.

Sorry.
